El torrezno también se utiliza en Salamanca y Ávila para hacer los hornazos juntamente con lomo de cerdo, chorizo y huevo cocido, que se consumen el Domingo de Resurrección, para romper la Cuaresma. En temporada veraniega son típicos los asadores, permitiendo degustar chorizo, morcilla y chuletillas al sarmiento aprovechando la madera resultante de la poda de los abundantes viñedos de la zona. El plato típico son sus famosas "Patatas Meneás", cuyos ingredientes principales son patatas, tocino de cerdo, pimentón y laurel. Uno de sus platos más curiosos es "El Limón", compuesto por limón, naranjas, sardinas en lata, chorizo y ajo. La festividad continúa en el campo con una comida a base de tortillas de diferentes productos (espárragos, ajos tiernos, chorizo, setas... ) para "espantar a Judas". Utiliza mucho los productos de la huerta, siendo ejemplo de ello la menestra de verduras (denominada Menestra riojana), patatas con chorizo, patatas con carne, pimientos de piquillo. También las carnes son excelentes, siendo buenos exponentes el chorizo local, morcillas y chuletillas al sarmiento aprovechando la madera resultante de la poda de los abundantes viñedos de la zona.

Zutaten: 250g Margarine 240g Zucker 5 Eier 250g Mehl 1 Päckchen Backpulver 2 Götterspeise (Himbeer, Waldmeister) 2 EL Kakao Zubereitung: Weiche Margarine mit Zucker schaumig schlagen. Weiter schlagen und die Eier nacheinander unterrühren. Mehl mit Backpulver mischen und portionsweise unter den Teig kurz rühren. Den Teig möglichst gleichmäßig auf 3 Schüssel verteilen. Die erste Portion des Teiges mit 2 EL Kakao, die zweite Portion mit Götterspeise- Himbeergeschmack und die dritte Portion mit Götterspeise- Waldmeistergeschmack verrühren. Die drei Teige abwechseln (mit Hilfe des Löffels) nebeneinander in eine gefettete und mit Mehl ausgestäubte Form (z. B. Springform Durchmesser 26cm, oder Kastenform 30cm) geben. Mit einer Gabel ein Muster ziehen. Im vorgeheizten Backofen ca. 50- 60 Minuten bei 180°C backen. (Die Garprobe mit einem Holzspieß machen).
